Noobsletter: July 2025

Community Updates

Let's start with the move: it's (mostly) complete! You may have already noticed a couple of videos from the new studio, which isn't decorated yet. I'm loving the new look, and I can't wait to get some content started!

Now, let's talk about some exciting up-and-coming stuff, now that the big, life-changing event of moving houses is done. Over the course of the next few months, and through the remainder of 2025, you should be seeing MAJOR improvements all around. The Patreon is going to get new benefits (on top of the already existing ones), the podcast frequency is going to ramp up, short form content should be ramping up, and we might even get back to picking barrels before the year is over! For my Christian friends out there, prayers would be MUCH appreciated - things are going to get (good) crazy.

Behind the Scenes: New Studio

As alluded to, the studio is TOTALLY different from what we had at the previous location. When I moved into this house, there were some water issues that indicated we would have to redo the basement. Bad news for your average buyer, but good news for someone like myself, who wanted a blank slate to work with!

After a week of peeling, scraping, bleaching, and scraping again, I got the old floor up. With no flooring down, it seemed the perfect opportunity to repaint, and finally, we put some carpet down!

The finished product is still a little rough around the edges, but the lighting seems a lot better so far!

Cigar Review: Zino Nicaragua

This month I'm highlighting a Cigar that's PERFECT for summer! This Zino Nicaragua has a peculiar mix of sweet and spice that I really enjoyed smoking on the deck last night.

I was shocked to find that it wasn't just mellow connecticut flavors - there was actually a peppery kick and a nice woody backbone to it! For someone like me who usually enjoys darker smokes, this made it a lot more intriguing.

The only downside I came across while smoking it was the pairing - when I added some scotch into the mix, the cigar mellowed out quite a bit, and it was much harder to taste it. Next time I would try some tequila, which I think would do much better (especially for the summer vibes).
